Shapeways figures

I am an avid KSP(Kerbal space program) gamer, and have logged over 500 hours (and counting). I am thusfor really proud to host two kerbal figurines on my desk(they have generated a lot to interesting discussions, but that is besides he point here). I got these though the KSP store on shapeway(http://www.shapeways.com/shops/kerbalspaceprogram)
I have also recently found that the graphics are generated with a 3d model render.
I would love to have a nice inserter and assembler on my desk next to my kerbal figures...maybe the devs could make a store on Shapeways?

I think it would be a good idea to have some 3D figures to offer. But I don't know which exactly as the player character seems not iconic enough.
Maybe this topic is related: https://forums.factorio.com/forum/vie ... f=5&t=9021

Nevertheless I personally probably wouldn't buy one.

Why I didn't think of baddies as mascots? :o
Surely the biters, spitters or worms would make sense.

I was thinking about what would be iconic; I thought that the car and tank might fit that bill.
Maybe if ssilk would upload something to Shapeways as a test...I would buy it.
Something to note with these models, they are made of sandstone, and thus spindly biter legs would crumble during manufacturing.

Unless they were unreasonably expensive, I would hands down buy a figurine or two. Maybe not one of the character itself because as other people mentioned, he/she isn't all that special. However I think an assembler or rocket will or tank or something would be epic. Would love to have one of those on my desk. :D

Actually with Steam release dawning we have started talking internally about some merchandise stuff. First (very simple) testing T-shirt is coming this week. Next step will probably bee a key ring and maybe a Factorio mug. That would be for starters. The preference is to start with simple meaningful set and see if people are interested in this, then we can start thinking of plush inserters / biters and stuff =) Anyway, thanks for the poll - useful information.

I have a recommendation for some merchandise- some vinyl stickers and car magnets. I actually just spent $10 for a custom factorio sticker for the lid of my laptop.

Yes, starting small is reasonable.

Once we have the T-Shirt and smaller things, than, if we wanted to do something else, than it should have to be something from the factory. Assembling machine, inserter, steam engine - something like that.

And later, if we wanted to go even further, we could also think about something that would move, well I have been thinking about it and the possibilities are big :)

Thirded. I'd definitely go for one of these. I'll certainly be getting a shirt when they become publicly available.
