Is this supposed to happen?

The gathering is a bit to the north of the current location. I have a bunch of mods installed, but nothing that appears to affect biters (although big drills do produce a lot of pollution, but they're all quite a distance away from this spot)

On a side-note: I don't think I've seen any behemoths yet. Given the amount of big biters in that bunch, I would kinda have expected those to start showing up?


*edit* Once I started killing the biter base directly to the southwest of that gathering, they gradually migrated into that base. Also, I have seen quite a few areas with lots and lots of biter corpses, that were there even before I arrived in the area. Not sure if that's somehow related (biters gathering and the game killing them off at some point for whatever reason)



*edit 2* nvm on the behemoths, I started spotting some shortly after I cleared this area. Guess they're just not all that common yet.

That is not a bug, they are creating a group, so they attack all at once.

Behemoth biters are present only later in the game, when the evolution factor of biters is high.
