[0.12.3] Wall health bars drawn under adjacent walls

This has actually been around for a while now and it's a fairly minor issue, but I figured I'd post a report in case this is easy to fix :)

Walls get their health bars drawn underneath adjacent wall pieces (this might apply to other objects as well, but it's most noticable with the walls). As this description may or may not make a whole lot of sense, I'll include two images:

First image shows a wall that biters have taken a few bites out of:

Second image shows the same wall, but with an additional row on the next tile:

As you can see, the health bars get obscured by the extra row of walls.

Well, that is a minor issue, and I don't really see a good solution. Putting health bars above everything looks pretty bad.

How about drawing obscured health bars half-transparent on top of other things? Doesn't look that bad and still shows useful information.

It is a good idea, but it is not simple to implement with the current engine.

Is this something that can be changed for just walls? Or will a change to where health bars show up apply to every entity? If it can be set for just walls, I wouldn't mind it looking a bit weird there as long as this important info is visible. Alternatively, perhaps a red blinking notification icon on walls that are below 75% health?

(just tossing some ideas around, to see if there's anything to improve this without having to spend too much dev time on it :) )

What about the color mask? Couldn't it be used somehow?

Other solution : put health bar above when detailed view is on
