Displayed values like 1481157 % are hard to read.

Please shorten the number by using K for 1,000 and M for 1,000,000's like solid resource patches.

% values for liquid resource is hard to get either. 1,481,157 % is the same as 148,157 /s.

I would appreciate to read 148k here.

Even 1.5 M % would be way better than the current display

It's one of the few warts left in the game, in my opinion. I feel like every new player has to look up what the "Yield" on an oil patch means, so the only meaningful information that you can read straight away is that one oil patch is richer than another.

Fortunately, pumpjacks do show a per-second output rate after they've been placed.

The total yield can’t simply be changed to a rate, since it depends on the pumpjack’s speed. This can change with quality and buildings added by mods.

Quality doesn't increase a pumpjack's speed.

Also, for a resource that cannot run out, the only meaningful question you can ask about it is how much it can make relative to other patches. That is, the question you're asking is whether this oil field is faster at making oil than this other oil field, and if so, how much. A patch that's 3x faster than another will still be 3x faster with a faster pumpjack.

The main thing is this: given two sets of numbers, how easily can a player assess that one oil field is 3x faster than another?

I stand corrected on the point about quality.

As for how to compare, yield is directly proportional to rate, so a patch with 3x the yield has 3x the rate, all else being equal. The comparison can be made easier with the improvements to formatting suggested earlier in this thread.

Sure, but it's much easier visually to compare 5.7k against 1.6k than it is to compare 57452% against 16345%. Even if it were just 57k% vs 16k%, that'd be better.

It's about getting rid of the unnecessary precision of the numbers.
