Icebergs (Aquilo "Foe")

I think it would be neat if slowly drifting icebergs occasionally came across Aquilo's "waters"

It would give another use to the turret and grabber system required by platforms, and could perhaps yield certain materials which otherwise can only be got there through basic processing (or even importation, for the rarer grinder percentage items): there would certainly be a lot of ice haha, but there should also be a bit of ice platform!

They would need to destroy built ground to have a point, so naturally spawning islands, being the only thing they cannot destroy, would need to be slightly larger and more numerous

I envisage but minimal adjustment to Aquilo mechanics to make this work

Aquilo is well-designed to not require low-level intermediates. If you're importing finished goods, the only common intermediates you'd need to bring in for Aquilo production are steel, concrete, refined concrete, and blue circuits.

Having to make bullets on a planet with no iron isn't a great idea.

Also, it would highly discourage any playstyle that involves building a spread-out base, as you now have to defend all of it. Rails and blocks would become far less useful, since you can't afford to cordon off massive areas. It'd lead to very samey base design.

A good portion of the point of Aquilo is that you can't get standard resources locally.

You make a good point. Perhaps then they could be wandering things that could not cause damage but could be harvested for such things as ice and ice platform
A nice bit of flavour
