[2.1.20] Rare construction robot attempts to remove itself

In map view, I attempted to remove a rare construction robot from a roboport by right-clicking:
What I expect to happen: the robot is removed by one of the common robots.
What actually happens: the rare construction robot seemingly attempts to remove itself. It flies out, visits a storage chest, and returns. It accomplishes nothing.
This happens consistently until the robot is summoned for some other task, or the roboport runs out of space on the return flight.
