I realize this isn't a bug, I hope it's okay to put this here. (I'm pretty sure that) Labs with prod modules used to show a purple productivity bar like everything else, but with the new system they don't show any individual research progress and thus cannot display this purple bar.

What did you do?

Put productivity modules in a lab and open the lab while it was actively researching.

What happened?

I saw the science packs being consumed and the total technology progress.

What did you expect to happen instead?

The same as above, but additionally with some indicator of productivity working (like the purple bar that shows up in the UI for other machines with prod modules).

Does it happen always, once, or sometimes?

Always.

You’re right, they used to show a bar but it was removed as it never did anything of particular value. Productivity is applied each tick the lab works regardless of the value the bar would show. To simplify the UI, the bar was removed.

the bar used to be real. way back when, science was like any other recipe, and applies 1 pack per finished consumption. productivity worked exactly like you would expect, applying when either bar filled up.

going further back, it was just a % chance of a second free output when the recipe finished.
