I can't believe 2.1 was delivered without a massive update to the mod management system.

I am trying to install "https://mods.factorio.com/mod/planetary-pioneers" and keep getting "The selected mod configuration is not valid. The dependencies for some mods are not met."

Its a large mod, but i've been scrolling for 2 hours trying to spot everything.

This is not a first time. Before that on the same evening with the latest version of Factorio, I just "updated all my mods" with Space Exploration enabled and it kept saying I have not the updated version of a referenced mod which I did download to the latest version and I couldn't set it to the latest version and got "The selected mod configuration is not valis. The dependencies for some mods are not met."

This is message is serious pain in the @?% because you have to scrap everything else to get loading errors you would have gotten telling you what is missing.

How can't there be a "download and activate all dependencies" button. !!!

The in-game install mod button automatically installs a required dependencies.

It downloads and activate what you do not have, but not what you already have that is required.

I removed the mod and re-installed it and it activate the mod, but not the (literally) 138 dependencies...

But there are other issues with the mod management. Yesterday, I updated all my mods including space exploration which was active. I downloaded and installed the 0.7.5 version of "Space Exploration Postprocess" required by Space Exploration 0.7.57, but the "The selected mod configuration is not valid. The dependencies for some mod are not met." message was blocking saving settings. In the updates tab, there was nothing to update (so 0.7.5 was downloaded), but in Space Exploration PostProcess details, I couldn't chose "0.7.5" - only "0.7.4" so I had to deactivate all mods, then restart Factorio and then I could chose 0.7.5 (and therefore activate the latest Space Ex version).

Often, we download an update and can't chose the new version in the dropdown afterward and it blocks dependencies. Before, we could at least confirm, restart Factorio and then see what is wrong (and choose the correct version after a restart), but the new message says nothing about what is wrong which is very painful when we use a mod pack...

I'll try to create a reproduceable case... I must not be the only one !

Planetary Pioneers was originally created prior to 2.1. You probably are running experimental, and expecting the mod pack to work in that version, which it cannot (yet).
