[2.0.77][Switch 2][Headless] Connection issues after many hours

Hi all!

I have been searching for a specific topic like this, but the issue is kinda strange and I couldnt find anything so quickly that helped me along.

What do we do:
Me and my buddy play Space Age Console version (2.0.77) via my Headless server runnning in a Proxmox container on a N100 board.

How do we do it:
I play on my pc (via Steam), my buddy plays on his Switch 2.

Up until now (135 hours, 47Mb save size) it has been running absolutely flawlessly.

Then what is the problem:
Today, he suddenly gets a timeout when trying to download the map.

This is what happens: (I am already in the game, downloaded directly over LAN from my server)
When he joins, the server saves the map for him to join, then he gets a 1 kb download... resulting in a time-out... (I see his loading bar in the top, without progessing)

What have I already done to try to fix it:
(With AI help), I have tried several changes, which resulted in 1 succesful join...
In server-settings.json:
  • Download speed, changed from 0 to 5000, to 2000, to 1000. all did nothing.
  • Maximum segment size, changed from 100 to 200, to 500, to 1400. all did nothing.
  • He then changed his MTU setting in his Switch 2 from 1400 to 1500, which resulted in that one time he could join. We played for a few hours, then he got dropped and the same issue as stated above happened again.
My first guess, was the map size and the limitations of his Switch 2.

However.
  • Hosting the game directly from my PC (cutting the server out) did nothing.
  • Hosting an older game (30 MB) did nothing.
  • Him hosting on his switch 2, did dowload the map to my pc, but the connection refused at the end, resulting in a time-out.
  • Then him hosting a game of only 8 Mb, which is WAY smaller than anything we have been playing for weeks, did let me join, but with immense lag.
I have an Omada system, running and controlling my network.
  • UDP forwarding is enabled (as I see him trying to join, but the download is blocked somehow)
  • ISP checks are all good, (speed, ping, wifi, 5ghz (I am wired on my pc)
  • Firewall settings are good.
  • DDoS blocks in my Router are switched off
All these Omada settings havent been touched, so could not have been the problem, as it worked well before.

How did this work flawlessly for weeks and now suddenly it doesn't?

I really hope someone has experience with this matter and knows a way to solve it.

If you need more information, let me know :) Thanks a million!
I would hate to abandon this great save as we got so far!
