FPS Stuttering on 144 Hz monitor

Hello,

so.. lately I've upgraded my monitor from 1080p@60Hz to 1440p@144Hz (I regret it for multiple reasons, as I found out the world is not yet prepared for it, but anaway..).

I quickly realized that Factorio horribly stutters on it because the game is locked to 60 fps and the frames are not synced properly.
I've found two or three discussions on reddit or forums, that said the only way to resolve this is altering my monitor refresh rate. I've downloaded some tiny software and set launch parameters in PlayNite, so my monitor switch to 60 Hz whenever I run Factorio automatically.

And I am thinking.. is this the only way? It can't be.. If we want this game to survive next 20 years after a 2.1 release, shouldn't this be resolved for the next generations? I don't see it in 2.1 roadmap. I've seen few posts from like 2013 stating the game could get exclusive fullscreen mode, that could force 60 Hz by itself. But that doesn't seem planned for today.

I am also afraid that there is a bunch of people that accepted a stuttering as "normal" even today, not knowing the game could by much smoother with simple monitor setting.

Any planned solutions, or it's me only?

If we knew what caused this we would address it if possible. But, we don’t do anything specifically different between 60 hz and any other value that I can see would cause issues.

Did you check what's going on in Factorio-related settings in GPU driver app? All sorts of FPS-tune, -lock, -sync especially.
