UI QoL Suggestion: Window positioning for dual-monitor setups

Hello Wube Software team,
Right from the start, I want to say that I'm a huge fan of your work. I have over 1000 hours played in Factorio, and what you have accomplished with the 2.1 engine is simply absolutely amazing. It is incredible how far you've pushed the game, and right now, I spend almost all my free time playing it.
I am writing to you, however, with a request and a proposal for a minor, yet for a specific group of players crucial, quality of life (QoL) improvement. It concerns those of us who play Factorio stretched across two monitors.
What is the problem?
When playing on a dual-monitor setup, the logical center of the game screen lies exactly where the two monitors physically meet at their bezels.
When I press the key to open the inventory or any UI of a furnace, assembling machine, or chest, the engine automatically centers the window. In practice, this means the most important panel in the game opens exactly on the split between the screens and is physically cut in half by the black plastic frames.
Every time I want to build something or check a recipe, I am staring right into a "dead zone," which becomes quite frustrating after a few hours of building massive factories.
Proposed solution
Would you be so kind as to give us some control over the positioning of these windows?
The absolute best and cleanest solution would be to implement this directly into the gameāif the engine could remember the last position of the opened inventory after the user manually moves it to the side (to one of the monitors), or if it were possible to define a default X/Y offset in the interface settings for where these core windows open.
I completely understand that your hands are full right now with fine-tuning patch 2.1. Therefore, if native integration is too complex at the moment, it would help tremendously if you could at least expose the default coordinates of these core game windows (vanilla UI) to the Lua API.
The modding community would take care of the rest. Currently, unfortunately, even the best UI mods and libraries cannot override the default position where the inventory appears when the hotkey is pressed.
I believe this feature would make a lot of players with similar hardware setups very happy.
Thank you so much for listening to the community and for creating such an amazing game. Best of luck with the continued development of version 2.1!
Best regards,
mcLoad
