Now that Nintendo has introduced 16GB game cards, could we possibly get a physical release of Factorio: Space Age?
A complete cartridge with the base game and Space Age included would be great for collectors and for people who prefer owning their games physically. Factorio is also the kind of game people play for years, so it feels like a really good fit for a permanent physical copy.
Even a limited release would probably get a lot of interest. I’d definitely buy one.

Maybe better wait until the game reaches a more final state. Big update is being worked on right now.
But tbh I would recommend playing the game on the PC where you are free to make as many physical copies of the game as you please on all sorts of media like hard drives, usb drives, optical discs, inside blockchain whatever you name it.

iirc the main reasons werent really cart size, the switch barely has enough ram and vram to even load factorio space age on medium graphics.

Would definitely be cool to have a physical edition, especially with the new 16GB cards. Factorio is one of those games that feels worth having on a cartridge for the long term.

Maybe a way for merch store to have it, as well as physical physical disks and artwork with it also, for us people who want to display it as well as know it will never go away as digital can disappear

I looked this up a while ago, and it is very unattractive to do. If you do a small production run you would have to pay a change over charge of 20 000€,10€ per card if you use the 16GB version and 2€ for case and packaging. For some countries like Germany physical copies also need their nations age rating at 1000€+ per to be able to display them in a store.
And now, Nintendo takes 15% while the stores take 30% to 50%, so you have all those new costs and risks and make even less per unit than you would have if you sold it digitally.
