Hi all

I play factorio on a low-end laptop but on a 4k screen, down sized to 1080p in Windows 11 settings (so it can actually run fine). The mouse cursor is an appropriate size when on the desktop, but when in Factorio, the cursor is more than double the size. Its so large that it can easily cover an assembling machine when zoomed out a little bit.

This not only looks bad, but also makes it difficult to place poles, belts etc without zooming in and out all the time. I would have thought there was a way to set the size of the cursor in settings, but I cant find it (if its there). I've searched google, but only saw answers on Linux. Is there nothing to be done?

How did you actually "down sized to 1080p in Windows 11 settings"?

The cursor is created by Windows, and it is subject to display scaling and mouse pointer scaling (both found in Windows settings). If Windows runs with 4k display, you have probably 200% display scaling which doubles the mouse pointer size. If you also use a bigger mouse pointer this is multiplied, resulting in an even bigger upscaling factor. It seems Windows doesn't ignore this upscaling factor when running Factorio.

The only Windows location with some app specific scaling control is the properties of the link that starts Factorio > Compatibility > High DPI settings.

Hi I have monitor resolution set to 1920 x 1080 and Scale to 125%

In Windows the cursor is "normal" sized.

Im not too technical but I sure you are talking about these settings.
No normal sized cursor in Factorio no matter than setting i try

Not completely true, when i try System (expanded), I get a normal size cursor but game only takes up 1/4 of the screen
