1. What did you do?
I landed on fulgora in a save created in version 2.1.9

2. What happened?
The shallow oil ocean is now a patchwork of seemingly 2 different tiles separated by a rather harsh transition (see attached screenshot). According to the editor, those are indeed 2 separate tiles; Oil ocean (the darker one) & Oil ocean 2

3. What did you expect to happen instead?
I expected the oil oceans to look like in 2.0.77. There, the shallow portion of the oil ocean consists of only one tile (Oil ocean) from the looks of it.

4. Does it happen always, once, or sometimes?
It happens consistently across multiple saves, including ones updated from 2.0.77 to 2.1.9, saves that were made in 2.1.9 and when discovering fulgora using the map editor on any saves that I could load.

Is there anything actually Broken, or is this just “I don’t like the new tiles” ?

134161 addressed an issue with loading pre-2.1 Saves and adding the new tile types. I don’t see anything like that in your screenshot.

I don't know whether this is technically a bug, but I'd like to add that I don't particularly like the look of the new tiles, especially the transitions between tile types. I prefer how it looked in 2.0.

Thanks for the report however I'm not seeing anything here that's a bug. Not liking how map generation works is not a bug. There were some fixes done to the noise logic in as part of 2.1 work which could easily have changed map generation here.

Fair enough. Could you consider moving this to Ideas and Suggestions? I feel like the tile transitions are jarring enough that it might be worth another look by the graphics team.

I also immediately noticed this and found it a little worse than before. It's fine that there are two very similar colors, but the edges look very artificial and aren't smooth enough for them being essentially the same fluid.
The transitions to the deeper darker areas are perfectly fine still.
