Can we talk about why the "Single player" mode has a space and "Multiplayer" hasn't? Is this normal? English isn't my first language but that appearance is bothering me.

They're probably expecting the english localisation for the "Single player" button to say "Singleplayer", or the localisation for the "Multiplayer" button to say "Multi player", so that it's consistent.

Yes, this is normal and correct English. 'Single' is an adjective and a separate word. 'Multi' is a prefix and attaches to what follows.

The uncondensed form of “multiplayer” would be “multiple players”. But the current state of English is that “multiplayer” is what is idiomatic to write in this context, and there is no corresponding compound word for “single-player”.
