[2.0.77] Linux: keyboard shortcuts keys not working in Wayland mode

I can remember playing just fine in Wayland mode about two months ago. That was with version 2.0.76. Today I decided to play again and I noticed keynoard shortcuts keys did not work. To be precise the normal letter shortcuts like T or E or WASD for example. Tab, Alt, Escape appear to be working just fine. I tried from within Steam and from separate download out od Steam and it is the same in both. I also tried updating to experimental 2.0.77 version and still the same problem. Also tried to start a completely new game and problem persists. In all cases keyboard works if I switch to X11 mode.
Looks like Factorio is not compatibla with some system updated component that was done during the last two months. Currently I my system specs are the following (tell if I should list any other software version):
- OS: openSUSE Tumbleweed
- Linux kernel: 7.0.10
- Desktop: KDE Plasma 6.6.5 (using Wayland compositor)
- Graphic drivers: Mesa 26.1.1
Hardware:
[*] CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600
[*] GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE
[*] RAM: 32 GiB

I'm on kernel 7.0.11 with wayland, plasma (also opensuse tumbleweed, snapshot 20260610) and don't have this issue. Though I'm on nvidia. So something somewhere went wrong with your systems, most likely. JRepin, if you have snapper set up, could you try rolling back to an older snapshot and test there? Or try updating?

After updating today I ran into this problem. Weirdly enough, if I focused a text field, I was able to type normally into it.
Disabling the plasma virtual keyboard seems to have fixed the issue for me. (Settings -> Keyboard -> Virtual Keybord -> select none)
I'm running KDE fedora 44 (KDE Plasma Version: 6.7, KDE Frameworks version 6.27.0, Kernel 7.0.12)

I had the same problem after updating to the new KDE Plasma 6.7
I also have Fedora 44.
Removing the plasma virtual keyboard (TheDestroyer19's post) fixed it.
When it wasn't working, the majority of keyboard short cuts didn't work but escape for some reason did. Interesting problem

Thanks for the hint about the virtual keyboard. I installed one and enabled it and successfully reproduced the issue. It's fixed in 2.1:
134032 For the meantime you can work around it by disabling the virtual keyboard as mentioned.
