Display Panel QoL change

TL;DR
When opening a Display Panel, don't remove already typed text when using toggle buttons.

What?
Currently when using a Display Panel, the currently typed text will remove itself when you toggle the buttons like "Always show in Alt-mode" and have not first clicked the green confirm button and reopened the Display Panel. This also happens if you want to chose/change the icon after changing the text.

Instead of having text be removed unexpectedly, or forcing the use of the display panel in a specific order ( otherwise forcing the user to spend extra time opening and re-opening the Display panel), have the toggle buttons and icon selection not remove text that is already typed.

To give an example:
I tend to have what I want to type into a Display panel on the front of my mind, so I start typing right away. This causes a QoL problem if I now decide to toggle the "Always show in Alt-mode" button or change the icon, but forgot to when I first opened the menu: I either have all my typing removed expectantly (as un-selecting the text field doesn't remove the text, only toggling the buttons), or I have to remember to close the Display panel just to open it back up again to change another setting.

Why?
Improves QoL of the user to change all the parameters on the Display panel at the same time in any order. Also doesn't cause frustration to the user after typing up something and having to retype. Also also does not make using the Display panel an arduous process if you want to type, then change the display settings, then type again.

Thanks for the reply! I tried searching to make sure it wasn't a duplicate, but it seems I still don't know how to use advanced search :\
