Optimize expansion

Hi,
I’m currently completely overhauling my entire base structure because my old setup just isn’t scaling well anymore. Up until now I’ve mostly been expanding things in a pretty chaotic way, just adding new smelters or production lines whenever I noticed a slowdown, but I’m finally trying to switch to something way more scalable and optimized for the long run.
What I’m struggling with right now is figuring out the actual growth rate of my iron plate stock over time. My idea is basically to reinvest every single surplus directly into building additional smelter lines, so the whole thing turns into a sort of compounding production loop. The more I produce, the more production capacity I add immediately after.
The problem is that after a few hours, it becomes really hard to tell if the growth is genuinely efficient or if I’m just creating future logistical nightmares without realizing it. Between ore input, belt throughput, smelting speed, and transport limitations, everything starts interacting in ways that are difficult to estimate manually.
So I was wondering if anyone here uses external calculators, spreadsheets, simulators, or any kind of planning tools to project this kind of long-term growth. I’d love something that can estimate my final resource balance after around ten hours of continuous production while also factoring in regular ore contributions and infrastructure scaling.
I’ve already tested a couple tools, but most of them either feel way too simplistic or insanely overcomplicated to set up properly. I’m also thinking about experimenting with this compounding tool to better visualize how far the exponential scaling can realistically go before logistics start becoming the real bottleneck.
Mainly I just want to know whether my future problems will come from ore supply, transport saturation, power consumption, or simply scaling too aggressively too early. Curious to know how you guys usually handle these kinds of calculations for larger factory setups because right now I’m mostly improvising and hoping everything won’t collapse later on
