Hi all

im a LONG way into the game its been saving the entire time perfectly even saved this morning but all of a sudden its decided to crack the wobblies, it seems there is a specific error it doesnt like im wondering if anyone can help me fix this please.

Cannot save map: Possible memory corruption detected; bulk-inserter at {569.500, 1419.500} active state flags does not match the true active state. Active (true) != linked (false)

last auto save was 40 minutes ago, I have had this error before, i reloaded an old game and did the same modifications to my map and im getting it again.

Its not the computer, memory is fine i have plenty of hard drive space, drivers are all up to date etc.

If you know of a way to take a know good save file and get it into this state with reliable reproduction steps please let us know.

Otherwise, I’ve heard this line many times now and every single time the person came back with “oops, I was wrong, it was the computer”.

Run each test until PASS, or overnight.

So I went back to an autosave from earlier in the day started playing again and now its working perfectly again, no idea what caused that. Ill keep you updated if it happens again

Without hardware checked, your report of yet another random crash will not be any meaningful. As the error said - possible memory corruption - not the game's fault.

Why do you think a software error is caused by computer hardware?
My PC configuration is error-free and everything works fine.

That is most likely not an error caused by software but a hardware error that caused corruption of the gamestate that was then detected by software.

If you find a way to recreate the corruption reliably let us know.

That error specifically is us on the software side detecting memory or CPU corruption and preventing it from making a corrupt save file that won’t be usable. AKA: your RAM or CPU has failed and corrupted the process memory of Factorio.

To supplement what developers already said above:
Game is crashing. You need to find out why. So, first thing you do is to check software and hardware. Devs already responded to you that software side is very unlikely to be the problem. So now, you need to check the hardware - it's just a next logical step.
Memtest and prime95 stress tests are very good start to confirm if hardware is faulty or not.
Until you do that - you don't know.
