[2.0.73]Mining drills outputting into lava cause a massive UPS drain

MAYBE NOT A BUG?

We used 3 months to achieve Mining productivity 40000(yes,level 40K).We found that trying to mass-produce uncommon tungsten ore by voiding normal quality ore into lava causes a significant UPS drain. It seems the higher the mining productivity level, the more UPS each mining drill consumes.

Maybe it's related to polling the internal buffer of the mining drill? Our tests show the internal buffer capacity is 65,535*50.

Also, the miner only keeps working and filling its internal buffer when outputting into lava. Any other container results in an 'Target full' message and stop working.

The way we used to voiding normal quality ore(Turbo transport belt under so the car can move)

test in editor mode,16 mining drills consume avg 15ms

save here

if the Big mining drill stop working, use the Deconstruction planner to remove it,then ctrl+Z or replace it manually.

Right-click to remove will cause game crush

Thanks for the report. I've fixed this for 2.1. Given this isn't crashing I don't want to risk changes to 2.0 at this point.

Strictly speaking, right-clicking to dismantle won't crash the game. Instead, items stored inside the miner will drop onto the ground because of the backpack capacity insufficient. This calculation process can take 5 to 10 minutes, during which the game will remain unresponsive.

Ah yeah that's also a bug and a regression introduced with 2.0 and now fixed for 2.1.

"You want us to handle a weird edge case around insane levels of mining productivity? Eh sure, why not." Based Factorio devs as usual.
