Give factorio.exe a modern high-DPI icon

TL;DR
factorio.exe deserves a high-dpi icon
What?
Please update Factorio’s Windows icon resources so factorio.exe includes a modern high-DPI (Vista-style) ICO.
It will render sharply on Windows 11 Start/Desktop/Taskbar instead of the current classic low-res icon.

Here are 2 versions I made from the high-res icon in the press kit using redketchups ICO tool:
(note the ugly frame around the current Factorio icon, something only "classic" icons suffer from)

Why?
  • Reinforces Factorios brand quality at essentially zero runtime cost and minimal dev effort.
  • Removes the ick on Windows 11 where low-res icons look blurry next to modern apps.

Here is the .ico file in case anyone else wants a temporary fix. It includes all resolutions as recommended by Microsoft although only the resolutions that are smaller than the original 382x382 asset.

Please consider this low-hanging fruit before you release the final version of Factorio. This issue will only become more jarring as time passes.

In my opinion it’s simply not important to bloat the exe with a huge icon.

.exe works as memory-mapped file during execution, so it won't affect performance or ram usage, just a bit of address space, but who cares in 64-bit era

I don't think 188 KB worth of "bloat" is a steep price to pay for Factorio to look like it belongs in a modern game library.
150% DPI, which is very common today

300% DPI, which will probably be more common in half a decade but is still not unheard of today

I mean just look at this... It is embarrassing.

Not only does it get that weird "look at how legacy I am"-border around it, it also looks blurry.

And while we're at it, I wouldn't mind if Wube released a 17280px render of the Factorio wheel just for the lulz. It could make for a great poster in my living room.

Not only icon is lagging. I read that they are using vulnerable OpenSSL library (for mods downloading) from 5 years ago, too :D
Certain things are due an update, for sure. :)

Feel free to fork this, staff. Easy low-hanging fruit.
