Here's a book review about a book written by a philosopher who argues that doing things (like playing games) for the sake of doing things, without trying to achieve a score, is more satisfying than chasing some arbitrary goal. Sounds like he'd be a huge fan of Factorio, if he isn't already. It also sounds like he's describing accurately why so many of us play.
