Crash on loading save after memory issues

Apologies in advance for a complex story.
This morning I got random errors about sprite when loading my save. From my google history I think the error was "incorrect data check: __base__/graphics/entity/worm/worm-attack-mask-3.png". Reinstalling factorio didn't help, but restarting gave me a similar error about a different sprite. Internet suggested memory hardware issues. I ran memtest and identified that indeed two of my four memory banks had issues. With only the other two it passed memtest without a problem.
However, on loading my save I now get a crash at the end the second progress bar ("Running entity setup"?). The save is somewhat modded (mostly factory planner and some other QoL), but after removing the mods I get the same crash. The crash also happens on my autosaves and on a slightly earlier save. I can start a new game or load a different save file without issue.
