[2.0.62] Crash on remote view in linux (LatencyStateAdapter::getRenderPosition)

Hardware:
Log files are from a Debian Linux desktop with Radeon graphics. Also experienced the crash on Steam Deck.

What did I do
  • Join a multiplayer server
  • Open the map on Nauvis
  • Zoom in to the point where the map screen transitions to remote view
What happened
Immediate crash before remote view is rendered

Since the remote view status is preserved with the account, rejoining the multiplayer server after this point produces the same crash.

What did I expect
To see the base at the given map location

When
Failing cases
  • Always when connected to multiplayer from my Steam Deck.
  • Always when connected to multiplayer from my Linux desktop
  • -00 log: Failed when joining a friend's headless server
  • Failed when joining a different friend's game running on a Windows desktop.
  • -02 log: Failed even when my friend started a fresh save file, followed by me joining and immediately trying remote view. Still crashed, so presumably not save file dependent.
Successful cases
  • Loading up a different save in single player worked fine.
  • Joining the same multiplayer game from a Windows machine worked fine.

Update:
  • Linux desktop with keyboard+mouse controls: success
  • Windows laptop with controller controls: crash
The issue seems to actually be with entering remote view in multiplayer when controls are set to "controller" in Settings. Linux was a red herring, it's just that I didn't have my standalone controller on hand when I first tested on my Windows laptop.

Thanks for the report. This is now fixed for the next release.
