I've been reading wiki about land mines: https://wiki.factorio.com/Land_mine

On link it says:

0.15.22: Explosive mine now only does damage to enemy units and structures

Does this also mean when a mine detonates it will not cause chain reaction to other nearby mines? (is planted mine considered allied entity?)

Land mine activation range according to wiki is 2.5 tiles, so if another mine is planted in that range will its explosion detonate the other mine in range and cause chain reaction?

No, land mines don't do chain reactions with each other. Put 'em as close as you want them to be.
