Unexpected error occurred.

When playing on my friend's server, even if I'm just hanging up, an unexpected error pops up and I'm forced to log out. But others did not experience this situation. During a certain period of time before, I frequently logged out. At that time, I saved the server archive as a single player archive and used commands to delete all enemies. However, after more than four hours (single player archive), it still crashed.

The crash is not gameplay related, likely a hardware problem. Make sure you have the latest bios for the raptor lake defect.

My laptop has already used the official latest BIOS and AP from the laptop brand, and the Nvidia driver is also the latest. My laptop model is Mechrevo Yaoshi16 Super (i9 14900HX/32GB * 2/RTX4080 laptop).

It is crashing in an area that runs several times per second no matter of the user input. You can post more logs with crashes so we can see if it is consistent but I don't see this being anything but broken hardware.

Version 2.0.55

My guess is desync starting here

Code: Select all

84.135 Warning Commander.cpp:209: Enemy entities with auto place controls 'gleba_enemy_base' on surface 'nauvis' have different collision masks. Enemy expansions may not work properly. Entities: gleba-spawner, gleba-spawner-small
But I literally know nothing.

Two of those are the same, and two are in different places. All of them are in the graphics driver.

That makes me believe either your graphics driver is corrupt, or the GPU is broken.

Given you haven’t said the computer is crashing - I lean towards corrupt graphics driver - but there’s really no way to be sure from crash logs alone.

I reset the network protocol stack, fixed the system files (sfc/scannow DISM/Online/Cleanup Image/RestoeHealth), re downloaded the NVIDIA game ready driver 576.80 and selected clean installation. I also installed DirectX as the end-user runtime, but still encountered an error. I don't know what else I should do.

Has it ever been stable on this laptop?

When I used to play other (possibly) games using DX12, it caused the UE4 engine to crash or even blue screen, and the reason for the blue screen was that the system attempted to access an invalid memory address. However, that game supports using DX11 to start the game, and it hasn't happened again since I changed that game to start using DX11. Do I need to change the alien factory to DX11 startup as well? How to do it?

I forgot to mention that the Alien Factory has never caused computer malfunctions, only this unexpected error has occurred.

Not sure what an alien factory is, but it sounds like you are bypassing in software what is broken in hardware on a machine that is likely still under warranty.

It's the Chinese translation of "Factorio".

Like Loewchen said, this sounds like a hardware issue.

Courtesy of Grok, for those (like me) curious:
In Chinese, *Factorio* is typically referred to as **异星工厂** (Yìxīng gōngchǎng).

- **Literal Meaning**:
- 异星 (Yìxīng): "Alien star" or "foreign planet."
- 工厂 (Gōngchǎng): "Factory."
- Together, it translates to **"Alien Planet Factory"** or **"Factory on a Foreign Planet."**

This name reflects the game's theme of building and managing factories on an alien world.

Yes, I directly used translation software because my English is not very good. :?

Thanks for the help guys, I fixed the system myself and found that the CPU driver seems to have been removed, although I don't know if factorio's abnormal crashes have anything to do with it (as there was indeed an anomaly that was fixed when the system files were checked and the CPU driver was never checked before that), but it's been a very long time since I reinstalled the CPU driver and so far I haven't seen the game crashing abnormally again! It's been a long time since the game crashed again after reinstalling the CPU driver.
