I do not remember exactly, but was this behaviour reported as fixed or not?

Thanks for the report. It was improved however the inserter is still limited by how fast it can move and how fast the belt is. At some point it may miss the item.

This happens all the time if there are one or two plates on the belt.

This is how the inserter simulation has always worked. You need a faster inserter or change the belt layout.

I do not believe you:

Instead of throwing screenshots, could you provide a save file? First picture shows clues that you are using mods which means you are not honest with us by hiding some details that may be relevant and you force us to guess.

I did some testing in editor mode, here's what I found:
1) If the plates are sufficiently far apart, then the inserter cannot pick up any plates at all.
2) If the plates are closer together on the belt, the inserter will "win" every so often, picking up a plate.

Your second screenshot shows this specifically - the plates are coming along in clusters of 3 closely spaced plates, so the inserter is successful in grabbing some of them.

You can easily recreate this blueprint in one minute. I hope you know how to play `Factorio` and create blueprints, right?

No, there is no way to know if you caused/ amplify / invented / hallucinated yourself the problem by using mods that you didn't mention like the bottleneck mod visible on your first screenshot.

If you want someone to look at this, post a vanilla save that shows the issue.
