[2.0.32] Incorrect numbers in production stats "consumption" of science packs when chaining labs

I built a 144SPM base. I've been researching the same thing for >30min now. When I look at the 10min production stats and search for "science", all science packs show up as 144/m -- exactly as I expected. However, the "consumption" stats some science packs are way below 144. That has to be a bug, right? I am not stashing science packs anywhere, they just go on a belt ant into the labs. And yet, somehow, I am apparently consuming the different packs at different rates:

If I was truly producing 144 military science per minute and consuming only 91, then somewhere 50 science per minute would accumulate, but that is definitely not the case. Everything is being consumed immediately. So the stats must be wrong. This might be related to the fact that I am chaining labs, so inserters are taking packs out of one lab and into the next.

This seems potentially related to 120351 Accumulators in statistics show more charge that they can have, 121799 Science production count mismatch, 125025 production tab issue, 125742 Recycler doesnt return ressources equally weighted. boskid, any chance you could have a look? :)

Instead of opening a new one, here is another one (version is 2.0.35)

100x science cost
No modules researched yet, no productiviy possible
Only red and green produced
No flask has ever been stored, except for military, which ive not used yet
The numbers are WAY off in the ALL TIME tab
186k/137k for red, and thats not even stored in the labs as its behind in production at the moment

Are we losing that much when chaining labs (which i have done like 14*14, visible above my character on the minimap)?
Or is only the math off?

The fact that it says "Science" (the white flask) produced was 185k, which matches 185k "Red" science produced, tells me its the Consumtion graph that went sideways (?) and production is the "real one"

Ive seen one bug report marked as solved in those cross links from OPs post, but I lost track which one it was.

Could provide a save, but its standard Factorio with SA enabled

I'm pretty sure it's just the stats. In my world, all sciences are consumed at equal rate as you'd expect (no odd backlog on just some sciences or anything like that), and the science rate shown when hovering in the top right corner also matches the 144 SPM + productivity modules in labs. So I think in the game we don't lose anything, but the stats are losing track of things.

That sounds similar, but note that in my case no mods are involved -- these are completely vanilla science labs and standard inserters to transfer items between them, no loaders. Some text in that thread indicates that loaders are special ("Another solution is to change loaders so that they behave like inserters, only moving whole items"), but it doesn't seem their special-ness is actually relevant for this bug.

Inserters and loaders work the same way when transferring items.

I see.
The packs are being consumed by inserters when they merge two partially used packs into one of higher capacity.
