Updated some mods and lost most of my assembler recipes

Hi all,

I was looking through my installed mods before loading my last save. I noticed that several mods (I don't use a large number of them) had updates and I installed them from there. When I loaded my last save I saw a dialog I'd never seen before that said something about recipes - can't remember exactly what. I figured it was just something that normally happened as a result of updating those mods and proceeded on. At first I couldn't tell anything was wrong. The area I was working on wasn't near the main factory and I made some changes then did a save over the one I had loaded before shutting down my laptop.

After starting back up later and loading the last save, I quickly realized that many hundreds of assemblers contained no recipe. It will take many, many hours to update all of the assemblers with their lost recipes and I doubt there's anything I can do to reverse the situation, but I'm desperate to know what caused this mini-disaster so that I can avoid it later. Obviously I'm not understanding some crucial detail about what all happens when mods are updated to latest versions. I have Space Age installed but I'm still happily on Nauvis where I have many factories that will need to be updated. :(

Could someone please explain? (and maybe surprise me with a way I can reverse my f**k-up?)

Many thanks!

(UPDATE) Is there a way to revert to previous versions of mods if I have recent' backups of everything? I'm not certain where stuff is stored and I'm playing on a MacBook M3 Pro although I also have a couple of Windows laptops that I play on from time to time.

So, you updated an unknown number of unknown mods from unknown versions to unknown versions, got an unknown notice and now some unknown recipes are missing and you want to know what happened and how to reverse it?

Ouch! That was a bit painful. But I totally get your point. Nonetheless, I don’t know how to go back and re-create the issue (not that I’d want to, given how it screwed things up) so I also don’t know how to provide any more detail. This was a first, and not expecting any particular problems updating mods, I didn’t keep notes while it was in progress. I suppose the next time that I don’t know what’s about to happen, I’ll whip out my phone and record it so I can ask more intelligent questions when it’s done.

In any case, your intuitive commentary tells me what I guessed anyway: I’m totally effed and on my own. Still, would be nice to know why it happened at all.

Cheers!
