Generic "quality filter signals" in circuit network like on inserters?

It doesn't make sense to me that there is no set of "generic quality" signals in the circuit network.

I would like to be able to turn off or on generic quality filters for inserters through the circuit network.

Yes, there is "quality filter" and "quality transfer" options in the selector combinator but that doesn't quite work if i want to selectively fill a chest with an inserter based on quality only. (not without making a mess anyway and it doesn't work if the chest is empty, nor can you read-out the current recipe of a machine)

As for setting conditions other than equal (not equal, if using blacklist setting on the inserter) that may be more awkward to deal with.

Just my 2 cents, wanting to fill up a chest with e.g. 50 common, 100 uncommon and 200 rare items via inserter and without having to each and every single time set up a bunch of different decider combinators per item of X quality.

There are quality signals in the unsorted tab. They are just not recognized by the inserters.

Also see Allow combinators to generate "pure" quality signals.

Seems i missed them, thanks.

Issue remains though.

I was also affected by this problem, and I really want them to add the signals I need.

Feels like it should be in the game , also maybe to use with splitters that can only have 1 filter.

It would also help if inserter and splitter are able to receive 2 signals, one for = >= <= =/= and one for the quality.

Use cases :

You want to make a contraption to pick up the highest quality first or last without using 5 filter combinators, one per each quality level.

You want to make a robot-less, quality-making, auto-mall that can switch recipe between different modules , you want to make it more generic in the same amount of space, like discussed in viewtopic.php?p=691471 :
