The alert you see is the alert for "no path". The engine isn't able to find a path from the current train position to the destination station.
In your last screenshot you show a station that cannot be reached. If it is supposed to be reached from the bottom, it's on the wrong side (need to be on the right). If it is supposed to be reached from the top, there's rail missing.
You hovered the mouse over the station, and you see the tiny yellow arrows over the rail. This is to show from which direction this station will be accessed. It's clearly visible it's accessed from the top, where there is no rail.

Yes, I removed the rail so that the stations on the test track are closer together. The route has a total of 3 stations. The middle station is approached from below and above. Do I have to put on the middle two stops?

If the last screenshot is your middle station, then this station is actually accessed only from above, since it is on the left side of the track. Trains may be bidirectional, but stations are not.
There is one core rule for trains: a train "sees" everything on the right side of the track, seen from the current driving direction. It sees nothing on the left side. If it reverses the direction, stuff previously on the left side is now on the right side, and now being "seen", while the other stuff, formerly on the right side, is now on the left side and not being "seen". This is true for stations, as well as for signals.

The first and second pictures are the lower station, the third picture is the middle, the last picture is the upper one

If the last screenshot is the upper station, well, as I wrote it cannot be accessed, since it can only be accessed from above. It needs to be on the other side of the track. Also see my edits in my above posts.
