Hello,

As of today I can no longer build the water pump on the edge of the water. You can only place them on the mainland. However, this placement does not promote water.
Is this a bug?

Do you have any mods installed?
Is this on Nauvis or Gleba?
Can you post a screenshot?

Are you sure you aren't using a regular pump instead of an offshore pump?
One can only pump water out of the ocean with an offshore pump

This is probably the answer. I've done this before. The Pump is on the main construction tab for logistics equipment, near pipes. The offshore pump is on the next tab over with the other assembly/power equipment.

no, it's a pump that you use for the water. Even today after the update it doesn't work. How should water be extracted now?

a) That is a pump, not an offshore pump.
b) Even if it were an offshore pump, you are trying to place it back-to-front.
