TL;DR

I want a signal that allows using Set Recipe to change a Foundry from making Molten Iron from Ore to Casting Iron Plates. Using the Molten Iron signal right now enables the Molten Iron from Lava recipe. I am doing this on a space platform so there is no lava available.

What?

I want a signal to tell the foundry to make molten metal from ore and not just from lava. You can see in the image below that a Foundry with a set recipe and a signal of molten iron sets it to the Molten Iron from Lava recipe. I want to be able to set the Molten Iron from Ore recipe instead. I have also included a comparison that it's possible to have a Refinery use Advanced oil processing instead of regular oil processing by using one of the outputs of that recipe instead of just petroleum. This signal could perhaps be differentiated by being a Molten Metal with a lava and a Molten Metal with an Ore instead of just the singular molten metal icon. Molten metals from lava is shown as the alternative recipe in Factoriopedia as well which already has a different icon. Which is also visible on the building.

Why?

This would allow for using combinators/signals to enable all of the recipes available to a building.

You have used the signal for the molten item product and not the molten iron from ore recipe signal.
Use the correct recipe signal and it works just fine. When picking the signal - make sure you have the correct signal tab selected.

@Devs - it would be useful if the recipe icon and product icon were not the same. More generally, would it be better if the recipe signal when invalid (rather than absent) displayed a specific error indication over the machine instead of defaulting to a recipe?
