Landfill becomes landfill in the recycler

Simply put, the landfill recipe in the recycler becomes itself instead of the expected 12.5 stone you would think it should become.

Thanks for the report however this is not a bug. Not everything recycles into the components.

Then where is the rhyme or reason for it shown? it looks like a bug as nowhere in the game does it make it seem like it shouldn't

I'm also confused why landfill shouldn't be recyclable. When I read the description, "The recycler reverses most processes except smelting and chemistry", it implies to me that, apart from smelting and chemistry, everything can be recycled.
I'm curious about the reasoning.
Maybe I should be reading it like this? "The recycle reverses most processes, with some exceptions. Products of smelting and and chemistry can never be recycled, fluids cannot be reclaimed, and some processes are just irreversible." Landfill would fall under the last category, just being irreversible.
Or maybe landfill is considered to be a smelting or chemical process? But that isn't clear to me, because it's not made in a chemical plant or a smelter.

The rules for what recycles to itself is somewhat arbitrary, see viewtopic.php?p=646241#p646241.
In particular, the games lua code explicitly makes landfill do this. My best guess is because it would allow for efficienct storage and transportation of stone, since one landfill requires 50 stone to make, meaning with recycling it would store 12.5 stone.

Whether the description says "most recipes" or "all recipes", I still find it ambiguous. The phrasing implies that anything not involving smelting or chemistry is reversed, which creates an expectation that landfill would be recyclable.
A suggested rephrase:
"The recycler reverses most crafting processes except for smelting, chemistry, and a few special cases."

- Stone bricks can't use prod modules directly (it's a furnace recipe). Also, it's mostly intermediate.
- Soil is weird. It looks more like a bug than intended behaviour.
