I expected the shadows to be consistent. Advanced Circuit & Computer Processor shadows seem nice and smooth, but green circuitry is very out of place. I attached an image for side-by-side comparison of an underground belt casting shadow onto the belt itself.

Could it be that what you are actually seeing here is stack of items?

It's a visual bug, item stacks have many of those and unless we change art in some way, it's not gonna work perfectly and we are trading off one set of bugs for another.
