What?
The trigger technology Calcite Processing should unlock steam turbines.
Why?
Steam turbines can currently be unlocked either by the heating tower research in gleba, which gives you a way to aquire 500C steam or the nuclear power tech in nauvis, which give you another way to get 500C steam. The third way to get 500C steam is via acid neutralisation unlocked by calcite processing on vulcanis. It should also allow you to get steam turbines. When you land on vulcanis without having steam turbines unlocked, you need to do things on nauvis or gleba to unlock them, which is really hard and counter intuitive. They are clearly intended to be used on vulcanis.
