After researching the captive biter spawner, I can place logistic requests for the spawner or place ghosts, but neither of these show up in roboports set to 'Read logistics network requests'. This makes it impossible to have one built on request.

Construction requests are not included in "Read logistics network requests".
Duplicate of 121549 On Volcanus construction requests don't count as logistic network requests.

@Space-Corben, could you share your save/blueprints/provide more details??

It isn't a bug after all. Turns out my spidertron was just slightly outside the logistics range of a roboport. And I could've sworn the build requests were included in logistics requests before, but I guess I misremembered.
