[2.0.16] Assembly machine with prod mods creates different items besides the end result

Vanilla 2.0.16. An assembly machine with productivity modules produces extra items besides the end product, also items that aren't part of the ingredients for the product. For now there are a couple, top row, it's on Nauvis
Edit; the only thing I remember is that i upgraded the prod modules from lvl 1 to 2 not long before this happened via remote view and bots

Assemblers now have "trash slots" that have to be emptied by inserters or maybe bots. Things get put in the trash slots when you change recipes (including by circuit) or modules.
The interesting thing here is that the trash slots seem to contain valid inputs and outputs for the current recipe. Did you by any chance switch it to a different recipe and then back to yellow science?

Ok, didn't know about the trash slots and no, only swapped modules for higher tier ones via bots
But it's a bit of an annoyance if they end up on the belt or whatever. kinda defeats the purpose

If it does becomes a recurring issue, use filters on outserters ?
