Heyho,

When using the pipette tool to copy a pump building marks appear.
When doing the same but instead of using the pipette tool, using the blueprint way (Ctrl-C by default) those marks don't show

Using pipette

Hello, thank you for the report, however I consider this not a bug.

While the behaviours might seem similar, but when you copy, you are actualy holding a blueprint, which just does not have the same visualisations as entities, even when the blueprint consists of only one entity.

EDIT: moved to Ideas and Suggestion, because this is more of a feature request than a bug

I think it'd be useful to have these valid-item-location markers for pumps show when placing a blueprint (or pasting). I think there's some other visualizations that don't show when pasting / blueprinting, like turret ranges, power pole supply areas, and lightning rod coverage. Maybe this would need to be a setting that defaults OFF, so that people like me with laptops don't lock up the game when it tries to draw a zillion things at once?

It seems copy&paste of single entity is something players do and expect it to work as ghost cursor.

Hello, I personnally use the tiny differences there is between the 2 modes for edge cases
For instance if I want to measure the number of tiles between 2 machines i copy a power pole, paste it quickly along the distance i want to measure (which make it place a power pole every tile) and then ctrl-c the array of power poles to see the number of power poles in the line, giving me the distance.
This is obviously very edge case but I guess there are a few of those existing in the player base
