increase wire range for poles in space

on spaceships, i can connect machines with red and green wires over a much longer distance then on the ground. however, the same is not true for wires between power poles. i would ask to increase the signal wire range in space even bejond that of the increased range between machines.
reasoning: its really only for estethics and readability... powertransmition does not apply and i could just route the wire throug random machines. but this would get confusing, so why not allow more room for creativity.
