Main note; i am using interface setting where tooltips show next to cursor not on the right side below minimap. This tooltip would show fine with the right-side option.

There is a tooltip for mining drills that has info on "expected resources" that i am especially after. This shows when i hover over a drill already placed on ground: But when i am placing a new drill i can't tell how many ores it will touch: The issue is also the same with electric mining drills. It is especially annoying problem when you have 2 ore veins touching and you want to avoid mixing for example iron ore and stone to same belt.

I was about to report this same issue myself; it is not restricted to the mining drill but happens wit hall entities.
With the default behaviour, any entity show's it's tooltip on the right when you are placing it.

This is intentional, as showing the tooltip next to the mouse would always obscure the area that the player is building.

I completely disagree with that, but in that case new suggestion thread is needed. The gain of seeing tooltip far outweights the minor loss of sight around.

Fair enough, but in my case I had the tooltip delay to "never", so I'd expect the tooltip to show up when I explicitly request it with the keyboard shortcut (shift).
