When my character is on a platform, I can't bring up the pause menu because "esc" brings me to different map locations.

Steps to reproduce:
Launch the player onto a platform
Try to open up the menu to save and quit by pressing [esc]
Notice that either nothing happens or you see a new location in remote view
Notice that a player cannot bring up the controls settings because that also usually is bound to [esc]

What do I expect to occur?
I expect that at some number of presses of [esc], I reach something analogous to the view of my character, where afterwards I can press [esc] one more time to open the menu. Then I can save and quit.

Logs omitted because I don't think logs are relevant
Save omitted because I can't save and quit (that's the bug)

Thanks for the report, this should work exactly as you say. Can you record a video?

It looks like this is a problem when I start driving a tank and then go to the space platform. It seems that it's possible to save by pressing the Pause/Break button, then pressing Esc to bring up the menu.

I've since figured out how to save the game (by pausing with the Pause button before pressing Escape to save and close the game), so I've uploaded a replay of the bug in action.
