I'm running a Headless Server on Linux. After update to 2.0.9, I cannot connect to it from game without the Space Age expansion (which I don't have yet), it says that I need to activate quality, elevated-rails and space-age mods and I am unable to connect to my server. I have not re-generated the map since 1.1.110, I just started the server with only base mod in mods/mod-list.json. When I'm trying to disable the additional mods by explicitly disabling them in mods/mod-list.json, they just get enabled again when the server starts. Is there a possibility that my vanilla save has been converted to a Space Age save somehow? And if so, how do I revert this?

All right, since I got no reply to my question I decided to deep dive into this myself and I finally found a solution, which is actually really simple and doesn't require any regeneration or save file reverting. So if you have similar problems, just do the following:

- stop the Factorio server if it is running
- from the main directory of unpacked server files go into the "data" directory
- delete recursively the following directories: quality, elevated-rails, space-age
- I don't know if it is relevant, but I also have the quality, elevated-rails and space-age mods marked as 'enabled: "false"' in mods/mod-list.json
- start the server again

...and that's it, the server starts without issues and without additional mods, I can connect from vanilla game and play further. No data was lost.

Thank you for this solution - that's exactly what I needed. Guess I'll have to do this for every update until I get the expansion purchased for all my kids.
