1. What did you do?
I just landed on Vulcanus and started producing power with acid neutralization and steam turbines
2. What happened?
I got the Nuclear Power Achievement
3. What did you expect to happen instead? It might be obvious to you, but do it anyway!
Not getting the achievement without using a nuclear reactor
4. Does it happen always, once, or sometimes
I have done no further testing.

Not a duplicate, this is not a migration bug

It should check for consumed[nuclear-fuel-cell] > 0

I saw that but since that report was dismissed as a migration issue I felt another report was warranted.

According to the prototype it does that check. So maybe something is broken with that.

Please provide a save file to reproduce the issue.

Did you perhaps craft a portable fission reactor?

I did but I had had that for hours before I went to vulcanus. Unfortunately I don't have an appropriate save to share.

Maybe the requirements are consuming a fuel cell and consuming high temp steam?

It is generally hard to detect whether nuclear was actually used to generate electricity, so we throught that these 2 conditions would be enough.
We didn't realize that the combination of the turbines used on so other places + the item used for the equipment makes it not enough.

The solution probably will be to add yet another condition of nuclear reactor being built.

It won't be perfect, and I can imagine that people will complain for getting the achievement even when they just "build" the nuclear reactor as other things were done before but ... it seems to be good enough.

Another possible condition could be the production of a depleted uranium fuel cell.

Yes, that is probably good enough, it takes some time to deplete one piece, but it also takes some time to make it start properly.

bumping this up, just got the achievement by doing the following:
1. placed down and fully heated 4 reactors, then sacrificed them to kill a demolisher
2. later on, placed down bunch of steam turbines and powered them using steam made from acid neutralisation recipe

i guess this achievement should be given when working steam turbine shares a fluid network with heat exchanger, that has direct connection to at least one nuclear reactor that consumed at least one fuel cell? not sure how doable that would be though

With those conditions you could fail to get it by powering a reactor, making steam, putting it on a train, then consuming it elsewhere

So you used nuclear power, in a way.
I would say this is good enough for me.
