Single click enable filters on inserters

TL;DR
Enable "use filters" on inserters when the player selects the square to select the filtered item.
What ?
Currently, to enable a filter on an inserter, you have to click the checkbox for "Use filters", and then click the square to filter the item you want. Would it be possible to just click on the square to select the filter, and that would automatically tick the "Use filters" checkbox, saving one click? The player wants to enable using filters when they click on the square to select the filtered item.
(By extension, could also apply to the override stack size silder/textbox, as well as clicking on "Spoiled first" or "Fresh first" to enable the "Spoiled priority" checkbox.)
Why ?
Save one click when filtering inserters.

+1, I actually came here to suggest this. It's strange because it feels so much like something that should be the case that it's surprising that it isn't. I keep doing it accidentally despite knowing it doesn't work that way.

Same here. It really feels like the kind of QoL that WUBE would have caught on their own. To clarify, I've got nothing but respect because I've never played a game with such good QoL and such fast bug patching which is why this was surprising for me.

I very much like the suggestion.

I'd also like to add my own:
Set inserters facing toward the void of space to filter enabled when first built. Or at least make it so for the inserters placed between the platform's core storage and the void.
I've chosen to reload my last auto save a few times while figuring out my circuit logic conditions, and it seems many people had similar incidents happen.

I agree with you! I've placed many inserters on my platforms and voided items I didn't mean to.
