Freeze on Mac when getting an achievement

M1 Mac here, Steam edition, same happened yesterday with 2.0.7 version (but I forgot to get the logs) and today with 2.0.8. Different achievements. I get the in-
game banner, a Steam popup, and then the game freezes, gives me beach ball of death and stays there until I "Force quit" it.

The achievements make it to steam, so it seems the freeze is after that call:
