Hey,

when trying to make a nice rich text using rails and then ramps/support it looks a bit weird.

Or just trying to use it as blueprint icons.

Would be nice if it was changed.

That would look really neat.

In a mod, you could make a "grounded rail" sprite or virtual signal icon by scaling the rail down and merging two copies of it side by side.

No. Keep in mind rail is from base while ramp and support are from elevated rails. Rail is not tall so having it arbitrarily take only half of the icon sprite size would be a readability wasted for a feature that does not matter.
