How to remove trees?

Like what military weapons are most efficient at tree clearing? I've resort to shooting down the trees.

Apparently they were the real enemy all along.

Do flamers just burn the leaves but leave the tree? I need results against this omnipresent enemy pronto!

In my opinion, the flamethrower is efficient when it comes to clearing forests. It just takes a while until the trees are burnt.

You can also clear trees with the tank. The tank also has the advantage that you can clear specific areas or cut aisles.

Or you can simply use robots to cut down trees and burn the resulting wood to generate electricity.

I use poison capsules or grenades before bots and bots when I have them.

Obviously, since trees are alive and breathe air, anything poisonous should work. For example, the vanilla poison capsules are quite efficient for clearing forests because their poison clouds deal damage to all trees within a certain area. (Caveat: Doesn't work for modded trees that do not have the "breaths-air" flag set for whatever reason.)

Weapons with area damage are better, so grenades are a good option before you have poison capsules. Atomic bombs kill trees instantly in a huge area, so they are quite effective -- but not actually efficient. :-D

If you just start a fire casually, chances are it won't spread far and trees will just get charred instead of burned. But if you put some real effort into it and set a cluster of trees on fire, you should get some visible results. Unfortunately, fire adds to pollution, so you may attract even more biter attacks.
