Game Settings - In real time

Goal
Make the game match the player's strength and ambitions
Situation
Started the game. Without changing anything in the settings, except that I reduced the amount of resources to the limit, and increased the distance between deposits to the maximum.
I also increased the maximum number of enemy units to the limit.

But in the end, for some reason, the enemies did not attack me. And there was no expansion of enemy units.
(A peaceful regime, I did not set).

It was a bug, that gave me the idea ↴
Idea
You can add an opportunity to the game, change its complexity. In real time
That is, setting up the behavior of enemies, their development, and so on.
Benefit
This will give a second wind to games in which the player has been spending a long time.

Or, for example, it will allow you to adjust the complexity of the game, according to the level of skills of the joined players, or their number.

https://mods.factorio.com/mod/ChangeMapSettings

I point this out because
1) It allows you to do it now regardless of dev decisions
2) Sometimes the devs use the popularity of mods as a gauge for whether or not to include it

Otherwise, I'm indifferent on this. The mod is more than enough for me.

The problem with all mods is that their developers are not working on translating them into other languages. Which the game supports by default.

Did you try talking to the dev and see if he/she would add translations for the language you prefer if you send them?

Especially seems the dev of that mod is also a dev of the game....
