choose-elem-button with click event?

Is it possible to have a locked "choose-elem-button" that still gives me a clicked event when the user clicks it?
Reason is, I want to have a sprite shown with the normal hover tooltip, but also need a click event. Right now I use a "sprite-button", but that is missing said tooltip...
